What are OBUK entrance door panels made of?

Entrance door panels made of OBUKRESIN®:

Outer layer:
2 mm fibre glass reinforced polyester outer layer (inside and out)
Insulating core:
Insulating core made of 20 mm thick rigid polyurethane foam, gross density 60 kg/m3, closed cell U value: approx. 1.2 W/m²K
Varnish layer:
Primer and top coat made from DD varnish, total thickness > 80µ, weather resistant in accordance with DIN 53387 at 25,000 hours at level 3H on the grey scale, RAL open-air weathering test
Ornamental frame:
solid polyester cast resin
Outer frames: are firmly bonded to the base plate using polyester.
Inner frames: snapped on firmly using special dowel plugs. So that the glass can be replaced on site.


Entrance door panels made of OBUKRESIN® with wood decor:

Wood decor layer:
Renolit film, doubled – consisting of an outer layer of acrylic, approx. 60µ, and a layer of PVC, approx. 130µ.
Outer layer:
The epoxy resin layer is 1.2 mm thick (inside and out). The top coat consists of approx. 7 layers of fibre glass bonded with epoxy resin. Glass makes up about 70% of the top coat.
Insulating core:
22 mm thick rigid polyurethane foam, gross density 60 kg/m³, closed cell U value: approx. 1.2 W/m²K
Ornamental frame:
solid polyester cast resin


Entrance door panels made of OBUKALUMINIUM®:

Outer layer:
1.5 mm thick aluminium plates. In the case of the leaf concealing version, the outer top layer is even 3 mm thick.
Insulating core:
Insulating core made of 21 mm thick rigid polyurethane foam, gross density 60 kg/m3, closed cell U value: approx. 1.2 W/m²K
Varnish layer:
Primer and top coat made from DD varnish, total thickness > 80µ, weather resistant in accordance with DIN 53387 at 25,000 hours at level 3H on the grey scale, RAL open-air weathering test
Ornamental frame:
solid aluminium profile.

What is RESIN?

RESIN is the term used to describe polyester resins manufactured using a multi-layer process. Layer for layer, fibre glass mats are soaked and/or coated with RESIN (polyester). The final layer is the top coat which is composed of particularly finely layered polyester resin combined with the glass mat. This produces a very smooth surface that meets OBUK’s quality standards.

Can the glass be subsequently replaced?

Yes, the inner frames are snapped on using a special plug connecting technique, enabling the glass to be changed at any time.

What does the ornamental frame on wood decor panels look like?

Ornamental frames for wood decor panels are given a hand-painted and natural wood texture with pores, which is matched to the colour of the base plate. In doing so, we set real standards and guarantee the highest levels of quality.

Which models are also available with wood decor?

With the exception of a few grooved models, all models made of OBUKRESIN® and OBUKALUMINIUM® are available with wood decor or decor films. In the “Products” section, you can find a list of the variants that are available for each model.

What is the U value of an OBUK entrance door panel?

The standard U value of OBUK entrance door panels is 1.2 W/sqm K. Solid, leaf concealing entrance door panels made of OBUKRESIN® with a panel thickness of 85 mm achieve a U value of 0.36 W/sqm K. This makes them suitable for passive houses (front door in total: 0.80 W/sqm K).

Are OBUK entrance door panels free from CFC?

Of course! The insulating core made of rigid polyurethane foam is free from CFC, lead and cadmium.

What colours are available for the panels?

Any RAL colour you like (multi-coloured panels are also possible)

How are the external and internal ornamental frames mounted?

Special adhesive is used to homogeneously bond the external ornamental frames to the base plate before they are also bolted.

The internal ornamental frames are snapped on using a special plug connecting technique, enabling the glass to be changed at any time.

How can I tell which wood decor is illustrated in the catalogue or here on the internet?

Reproducing the colours of a wood decor film correctly is virtually impossible on the internet and extremely difficult in a catalogue. This is why we recommend comparison with an original film. (Your specialist retailer can show them to you). Orders should please always contain the Renolit number.

Are models made of OBUKRESIN® also available in aluminium?

All models are available both in OBUKRESIN® and OBUKALUMINIUM®.

Are side panels available for the models?

Yes, side panels can be supplied for virtually all models, even with fanlights for some models. Look in the “Products” section where you will find a recommended side panel for each model.

I can no longer find a specific model in the internet / catalogue, is it still available?

Yes, of course! OBUK is your expert for special models

Are the textured base plates available in wood decor?

Yes, they are! (Apart from a few exceptions – please ask us).

Which technical requirements do entrance door panels by OBUK comply with?
